HollowTech Labs

Workshop brief

About HollowTech Labs

An independent technology workshop for experimental hardware, software, communications, retro computing, and maker projects.

HollowTech Labs is where ideas that start with “I wonder if we could…” get turned into something real enough to test.

The lab is an independent workshop rather than a product company or formal research institution. The work moves freely between electronics, software, radio, fabrication, old computers, new microcontrollers, and whatever tool makes the next experiment possible.

Some projects are practical. Some exist because the technical problem is interesting. Others begin as unnecessary inventions and accidentally become useful. The common thread is building them far enough to find out.

Operating method

How the lab works

Procedure // 01

Build

Ideas are expected to become circuits, programs, mechanisms, interfaces, or prototypes that can be put on the bench.

Procedure // 02

Test

Assumptions get measured. Prototypes get used. The interesting part starts when reality disagrees with the plan.

Procedure // 03

Break

Failures are engineering data. A broken version usually knows something the next version needs to learn.

Procedure // 04

Document

Build logs, decisions, experiments, and mistakes are recorded so useful knowledge survives the work session.

Public record

The work stays visible

Project records explain what is being built. Lab Notes preserve the experiments, failures, discoveries, and decisions made along the way. Together they form the engineering record of the workshop.
